Government contracts inside and outside the United States make up a multi-trillion dollar market involving a host of actors, each with their own interests. Negotiating these contracts poses unique challenges and requires a nuanced understanding of several areas of the law. These laws, as well as contractual requirements and regulatory compliance issues vary from country to country. An experienced team that understands these areas, your unique interests and goals, and how these will affect the negotiating process is necessary for success.

At Rose Walker, our U.S. and International Government Contracts attorneys have that understanding and experience.

Litigation Experience: Our attorneys have a long and established history of successful outcomes for our clients. Our process begins with you. Once we understand your specific needs and goals, we tailor our legal strategy to accomplish them.

Transactional Experience: Our U.S. Government and International Contracts team is led by Holly Clarke, a former in-house counsel for companies including General Atomics, L-3 Technologies, and Caterpillar Inc. We’ve negotiated multi-million dollar deals, settled disputes, and led large, multidisciplinary teams.

International Experience: Our team’s experience includes the successful negotiation of contracts in the United States, the United Kingdom, the UAE, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and other countries around the world. We understand domestic and international law, and assist our clients in working with agencies both in the United States and abroad.

Government & Military Experience: We’ve worked with the United States Departments of Defense, including the Army, Air Force, and Navy. We’ve also worked with NASA, the Transportation Safety Administration, and the General Services Administration. Internationally, we’ve worked with the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence, the Royal Australian Air Force, the Royal New Zealand Air Force, and many others.

Regulatory Experience: Any contract negotiation requires a thorough knowledge of procurement rules and regulations, as well as an understanding of issues related to small and large businesses, proprietary data, international acquisitions, the Foreign Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and FAR supplements, and a host of other issues. We can help guide you through what are often unfamiliar waters.

Security Experience: With the last several years having seen an increasingly large number of high-profile data breaches, online security is more important than it’s ever been. Rose Walker helps clients navigate this important area, and understand additional challenges posed by working with government agencies.

The Rose Walker team guides you from one end of the negotiation process to the other, from RFPs and contract interpretation to big protests and contract closeouts. But we don’t stop there. We counsel our clients not only in regards to existing laws, but legislation currently being considered and debated that could potentially have an impact on their business.

Our clients work in a wide array of industries, including defense, aerospace, communications, electronics, and research and development. Regardless of a project’s size or complexity, our goal is to set you up for success, now and in the future.
