Jury, Court Award Doctor $9.8 Million Defamation Case

Texas trial lawyers Marty Rose and Mike Richardson of Rose•Walker, L.L.P., won a $9.8 million decision in a defamation and breach of contract case. The two represented Dr. Neal Fisher, who sued his former employer, Pinnacle Anesthesia Consultants, which fired him after he raised concerns about company billing practices. Last week, a jury found for Dr. Fisher and awarded him $6.3 million. The judge added more than $2.2 million to cover his legal costs. The remaining amount represents prejudgment interest. “I’m very happy the court chose to cover my client’s costs,” says Rose. “There’s absolutely no reason he should have to pay anything in order to have a jury completely vindicate him, which it did by a vote of 12-0.” To interview Mr. Rose about Dr. Fisher’s case, contact Mark Annick at 800-559-4534 or mark@legalpr.com.
